Every 24th of the month, Ian and I celebrates our special day or some couple called it as “monthsary”, we make sure that on this day we are together and remembers the first day as couple. But this month, since I promised him that I’m going to treat him on our monthsary, we opted to celebrate it yesterday, January 25 which fell on our pay day.

Ian suggests trying Brasserie Boheme in Legaspi St. since he already tried this restaurant few days before our monthsary when some of the big bosses arrived at their office and we were both game to try a new restaurant. He told me that this place is homey yet formal ambiance wherein we can talk privately. Wow! I’m so excited to visit this place and try their best seller, so I make our reservation few hours before our scheduled dinner. I fetch Ian around 6pm and go off in Brasserie Boheme.

As we entered the place I really surprised, Brasserie Boheme is cozy, very relaxing, well-lighted and romantic. The interior designs are high-class, modern, chic and fashionable with very comfortable couches. The wine collections at the end of the restaurant really impressed me. The table setting is well organized; the plates were inspired by Picaso provided with a cloth napkin plus candle lights to make it more romantic. Over all, I personally love the ambiance of the place, a perfect for intimate dinner for couple like us or even a business meeting.

Beside the restaurant is their small delicacies shop, where you can buy chocolates, cakes or even freshly baked bread. They also have a mini bar where you can chose your favorite French wines while enjoying the superb scenery.

We had the Menu Du Jour Prix Fixe, a mix and match of a complete meal from set menu of soup or salad as appetizer, various selections for the main course and a dessert from the numerous menu choices and coffee or tea for only Php 490.00 + 10% Service Charge. Whoa! We were trying a three-course meal at Gustavian Restaurant! What a perfect date!

For appetizer Ian chose Caprese Salad, mixture of mozzarella, tomato, basil olives with balsamic vinaigrette. The serving was generous complete with a nice presentation.

I chose House salad as my appetizer, a combination of mixed lettuce with smoked salmon, ripe mango in mustard dressing. The salads were very good, really fresh, the sweetness of ripe mango and saltiness of mustard dressing collides that makes my salad appetizing. Well, same as the Caprese Salad, I love how the chef presents it.

After we had our appetizer, the staff presents our main course. Ian chose Chicken Curry with rice and pickled lime. The curry was excellent since it didn’t have after taste; the chicken was tender and tasty. The fineness of rice was good, there are two sauces to choose from, one is sweet sauce and the other one is sour sauce.

Ian ordered Char-grilled Salmon for me with a runner bean with garlic and olive mash potato. The salmon was cooked well, juicy, mouthwatering and with the right texture. The mound of mashed potato is soft and full of chunks. Well, I’m not health conscious that night so I consume all carbo-loading without guilt.

Every after meal, no matter how full we are, my tummy always has a special room for desserts, so we decided to get our chosen cakes. Ian picked Chocolate Truffle Cake while I chose Mango Trifle.
The mango trifle consist of sweet mangoes, cream and crushed graham crackers. The taste was perfect and it wasn’t too sweet, sad to say that they only give a small piece of this awesome dessert. Waahh.

Drinking cup of coffee or hot tea is the best way to end a meal. I’m not a coffee drinker since my mom didn’t allowed us to try it instead she require us to drink milk, Anlene specifically. Haha. Ian chose hot tea while I get brewed coffee, perfect combination for my Mango trifle. I appreciate the coffee since it was served hot and freshly brewed. It had a hint of sweetness even without sugar, but of course to make it yummier, I added sugar and milk.

Eating at Brasserie Bohome’s which is a fine dining restaurant is really worth paying. It wasn’t as expensive as you’d expect, can you imagine a complete 3-main course plus service charge and we only paid Php 1,068.00. Now, we are planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year in this type of restaurant.

After we roamed around Robinson's Place few days before Christmas Day, we decided to try Yoh-Gurt Froz. The place is small, bright and spotless, enough for us to relax and chillax.

I asked Ian to order one large plain Classic Fro-yo top with 3 toppings, Mango, Strawberry and Choco Dip. The Classic Fro-yo is 98% fat-free soft-serve frozen yogurt with the classic tart/tangy flavor, low-calorie, no cholesterol, with prebiotics and probiotics. It is smooth and creamy, with a refreshingly delicious taste, plus topped with a vast selection of fresh fruit or dry and fun-tip-ins to choose from Solo, Seasonal, Combo or Fun.

Plus 3 toppings Php 40.00

I love the tastes, it's like ice cream without guiltiness not knowing that it's yogurt. Haha.

Whenever we stroll at Glorietta, Ian and I always been curious by what they call "Fried Ice Cream". Yes! You heard it right, FRIED or COOKED Ice Cream! We have no idea how it could be since when you say ice cream it's supposed to be melt when hot but we wanted to see how they bake ice cream and still remain whole and icy. Out of curiosity, we tried it right away!

They have different flavors but since this was our first time to try it we chose a safer choice, Chocolate flavor. Haha. They also have 4 different packages; we tried the FIC 4 for Php 40.00 which includes 1 flavor of any coating dip or syrup, 1 candy toppings, 1 pastries toppings and 1 chocolate bar.

I saw how it made; a regular or ordinary ice cream out in a mixer or mini blender until it's completely molten and softened then put on a freezing pan then you see how the ice cream freezes again. When it's already compacted, the staff slowly scrapped from the pan and put it in a cup. For the final procedure, they put some toppings of your choice. Amazing!

I love Fried Ice Cream! The taste is awesome! The price might be a little high for some but it's wort it, I tell you. Having ice cream that night makes our day complete! Well guys if you've never tried it, you should!

I'm a very sentimental person and I want that whenever there's a special date or event I make sure to turn it into a memorable day. Since January 11, 2011 or 1-11-11 is somethings that will happens again after 100 years, I make it a point that on this day Ian and I will have unforgettable things to do that we both love, Food Trip.

Before this day comes, we already set our mind that we will get to taste what people have been fulminating and talking about, the BonChon Chicken at Ayala Triangle. According to their website, BonChon is two words that you'll definitely remember forever after trying a bite of their fried chicken. Whoa! Challenging! This restaurant is currently launched this year here in the Philippines, whereas in 2002, it was originated in Pusan, South Korea.

The place feels like a stylish fast food or should I say quick self-service restaurant where you can order at the counter and just wait for about 5 minutes for your food to be served. The ambiance was designed minimally, meaning the space is kinda small but comfy. They also have some tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy the beauty of Ayala Garden.

They have several dishes to choose from, value meals, side dishes, drumsticks, chicken chops and drinks but the most popular dish were the Chicken wings and legs that comes in two savors, the Soy Garlic and the Spicy Garlic. Smarla, one of my favorite food blogger advise me to choose the soy garlic, so I ordered small chicken wings with soy garlic sauce. The chicken wings are tasty, less greasy and really crunchy. You can taste the moisture from the sauce that you cannot even use a ketchup or gravy. I think they put a special secret sauce as a coating that was shipped from South Korea where it was originated. I salute the usual style of cooking that really brings out a wonderful taste and crispiness of the chicken. But take note of this, the servings are not that big unlike the chicken from Mc Do, Jollibee or KFC.

Small Chicken Wings Php 185.00 (6 pcs)

Ian ordered for French Fries. The fries were thick cut and served hot; for the better taste you'll be needing ketchup as a dip.

French Fries Php 45.00

Well, at the end of the day, I feel the prices are a bit too pricey but maybe because of how they prepared their dishes as well as the ingredients that is enough to validate its high price.

January 03, 2011 Monday, This is my special day or should I say my 26th birthday!

Before my special day, I ask Ian if he has any plan on my birthday because last year he surprises me when we celebrated it in Araneta Coliseum to watch for the Disney on Ice. I can't forget how he makes some alibi when reaching the big dome and telling me that we were going somewhere until we find ourselves in the long queue of line entering the dome! Wow! What a wonderful surprise!

But this time, Ian and I decided to explore Enchanted Kingdom where the magic lives on, well this is our 3rd time to visit the themed park. Ian picked me at our house around 9am and go off to SM Makati for the shuttle. We avail the packages they offer, Php 740.00 per person including the back and forth shuttle service plus ride-all-you can entrance at E.K. We left SM parking station around 11:30am since Enchanted will be open by 12noon. When we finally reach E.K, the first thing we do is to exchange our ticket voucher in the orange-colored wrist tag to show that you bought the day pass. Please take note that there are some rides or theater that you need to pay an additional entrance fee like 4D Discovery Theater (Php 60.00), Zorb Water Ball, ATV Ride, Go Kart and Hunted House.

As all of you know that we are photographers indeed, we gran this opportunity to take lots of photos not only the place itself but of course pictures of us. ♥ Before we enter the theme park, we both agree that we take photographs first then have our lunch and go for the ride since it's really difficult for us to carry the tripod and camera at the same time while riding at the coaster. So here are some of our memorable snapshots.

Theme Park Entrance

Enchanted Kingdom is a place where families, friends and even lovers like us bond together and enjoy at the same time. Most people tag this theme park as "Disneyland of the Philippines" Well, since I already experience the Disneyland in Hongkong, I can say that this is TRUE! E.K consists of seven themed zones with different exciting attractions for all of us, Victoria Park, Boulderville, Midway Boardwalk, Jungle Outpost, Spaceport, Brooklyn and Portablello.

We tool lots of photos around and appreciate the place.

We had our late lunch at spaceport area while watching people riding at the Space Shuttle Max. Whoa! Finally, after a few minutes of rest, we decided to leave some of our baggage at the locker located at Victoria park and getting ready to experience the fabulous rides.

Here are some of the rides we tried. At Victoria Park, of course the famous Grand Carousel.

At Boulderville, the Boulderville Express.

At Midway Boardwalk, the Wheel of Fate, Dodgem and Roller Skater or the Mini Roller Coaster.

At Jungle Outpost, Swan Lake and the Amazon Grill where you can see that famous monkey. Hehe.

At Spaceport, we only took photos at the Astronaut near the entrance of Space Shuttle Max.

At Portabello, we paid Php 60.00 for the 4D Discovery Theater featuring Dora the Explorer. We also try the Flying Fiesta.

At Brooklyn Zone, we visit the Rialto-a simulator ride where we enjoy watching Happy Feet. In this zone we also love taking lots of photos from different statue around the place.

Sad to say I wasn't able to meet and greet Eldar, the Wizard which is the main mascot of Enchanted Kingdom but I really enjoy celebrating my birthday in Enchanted Kingdom with of course my only honey. I love the fascinating sights and sounds of the rides, the food and seven themed zones and promise myself that I will come back here again.
