We did a lot of DIY for the baptism, my husband called it as “Labor of Love”since every single-detail was made with love. In fact, I did the layout of the invitations and posted at FB events. Well, I have a very supportive husband who always approves my proposal. Hehe. I really wanted everything handmade since iba yung feeling pag ikaw mismo ang gumawa especially for your baby. Okay so let’s begin..

INVITATIONS:
I wanted the invitations to be as colorful as rainbow, mahilig kasi sa makulay si Rhian. We didn’t print it out since we have already invitations c/o Max. This is the one we posted at FB event.

CANDLES:

I simple bought a pack of candles from the supermarket (Shopwise) and to make it more interesting I roll a washi tape from Paper Chic Studio and used cupcake cups as candle holder. We made a hole in the middle of each cup so that we could insert the candles after wrapping half of each with washi tape.  With some creativity, I came up with these lovely candles. Very cute right?!

GUESTBOOK:

What kept me busy during my maternity leave aside from taking care of my daughter was the planning and organizing of Rhian’s baptism. Guest Book was also included in the package but I don’t like to use it since it was too plain, Maarte ang nanay eh. Haha. So I made my own guestbook, I bought materials I couldn’t imagine coming together until I consolidate it and then tadan - our DIY Guestbook! I printed Rhian’s photos paste it inside the scrapbook so that the guests appreciate Rhian’s growing up stage.

MENU CARD AND TABLE NUMBER

Since I’m so maarteng and super OC na nanay, I make sure that everything was okay meaning walang aberya or di magulo, so to make the reception in order, I place a table number and our guest names for proper arrangement. I also printed menu card for them to know what are the set of choices that we ordered, mahirap na baka kulang ilabas ng Max diba, naninigurado lang po.. .

I feel that I have done a good job since the event was very intimate, organize and overwhelming! I think I need to plan for Rhian’s 1st Birthday, syempre gusto ko bongalicious yun. So guys I need your help, if you have any idea/suggestions about planning a birthday party, please let me know ha kasi super ma appreciate ko yun. Thanks in advance!

Wedding cord symbolizes lifetime unity or everlasting union of the bride and groom when they officially become husband and wife, meaning walang iwanan! It is also symbol of marital protection while the loops formed signifies their love for one another. It also means that you will now have to walk at the same pace towards one direction.

We wanted our wedding cord to be personalized and perfect for our travel theme wedding. I searched online for the possible suppliers who specialized in doing customized wedding cords. I inquire some of them and they send their proposal and sample but I was not surprise or amazed with their works. Sorry pero meron talaga akong hinahanap na bagay samin. OC bride talaga noh..

Accidentally, I clicked “Project Dream Wedding” website and saw some samples of customized wedding cord. I filled-up the inquiry form at the FB page and that same day, I received a detailed proposal from Eyzel. Wow! Ang bilis talaga, and very detailed pa yung email nya. Eyzel is a very nice and accommodating person, she is the owner of “Project Dream Wedding”, and she started her business after she got married to Angelo. She want to translate her desire and love of creating wedding cord and accessories to all the brides who wants to have a personal touch, elegant and thematic wedding accessories  I really admire her passion in doing personalized things for wedding, ganon ata talaga after you got married magiging interested ka na sa pag aayos ng wedding ng iba.

The prices for her personalized wedding cord are very affordable and high-class. Here are the price lists that she gave to me.

Wedding Cord* (Free Shipping Nationwide)

P500 = all acrylic beads / synthetic pearls
P600 = acrylic/synthetic pearls + glass beads accent
P800 = all glass beads
P950 = glass + crystal beads accent
P1,100 = crystal + glass beads accent

Notes:
- includes initials, trinkets and box for safekeeping.

- Additional 100.00 for detachable Rosary cord (2 detailed Rosaries that can be detached from the centerpiece)

Since I really love her works, I filled-up the official order form that will serve as our contract then right after that she gave me her account number for me to deposit the 50%DP. I really don’t know her personally, we only transact via but working with her is so easy. Ang bilis nyang sumagot sa email and text if you have other queries or clarification about your order. I just give her my idea and then she executes it on her own, malawak talaga yung imagination nya. Ang galing!

Here are the details I sent to her:

Motif – Pink and Purple

Freestyle or Rosary Cord – Rosary Cord
If Rosary Cord, cross or crucifix? – Crucifix

It’s been two months since our wedding and I’m not finish with our wedding suppliers review and other stuffs. Sorry busy mode ang lola nyo sa pag aayos ng bahay.. Hehe.. #certifiedwife. Anyway, this is my 3rd to the last review for our DIY Stuffs, and I promise to finished the last 2 this week (yun eh kung sipagin ako ulit ha.) Hehe.

Anyway, being so OC bride and sentimental girl, I want to share our memorabilia’s with our guest by putting a small gallery section at the reception area. I coordinate with Angel (our coordinator at Ibarra’s Garden) if it is possible to put a small table near entrance for our gallery, Thank God because she is so nice and very accommodating. I also informed Rookie (our coordinator) about our idea on putting these small stuffs at Ibarra’s.

Our wedding gallery includes the following: Our Movie Tickets, Scrap book, Tissue Papers, The Questionnaires Notebook, Love letters and our Plane Tickets. This is our personal collections since the day we met, Yes! Kahit yung ballot ng MC DO French Fries na pinabili ko sa kanya the day nung nagkilala kami, makikita nyo sa Scrapbook namin.

Thank You Mercy!

Like what I've said before, our wedding is so much “Labor of Love”, I have lots of friend who helped us in preparing our gallery. Presenting to you our wedding gallery.

Our guests really enjoy looking our gallery, there are some guests who texted me and congratulate us for having such a unique wedding reception, from table name, souvenirs and up to the small things they found in their respective table. Here are some text messages I received after our wedding:

Macey Beniopa“The wedding is awesome!”

Gen Arong“Alagang alaga kami sa kasal nyo.. Masarap yung food, ganda ng venue pati give aways, nakakainspire kayong 2”

Overwhelming! All our efforts and sleepless nights are all worth it! Now, I really miss planning our wedding! Sana pwede every month kinakasal noh! Haha.

I love being a meticulous bride; I want our wedding to be perfect that’s why I am very strict when it comes in inviting guests who will witness our special day. Honestly, choosing more or less 200 guests is very hard for both of us. We need to meet halfway; we need to double check if those listed names on our guest list are special to us. There are times that Ian and I debate about our guest list; of course we need to consider our budget before inviting them on our wedding day. Finally, one month before our big day, we decided to cut our invited guests from 200 down to 150.

I had been attended weddings since I was a kid and one of the things that I really hate is that when we don’t have any seats. Meaning, bahala kayo kung saan kayo umupo! Yes! I will not mention the names of the couple, but this incident makes me feel uncomfortable. Here is their story: Ian and I are invited in their wedding few years ago, this couple is a good friend of mine, the ceremony was really solemn, I saw lots of guests inside the church, the reception rites held on the lower ground of the church meaning we don’t need to travel to get at the reception. Our group was the last to leave the church because we took pictures of the newly wed couple, so as soon as we arrived at the reception I saw that all tables were already occupied. I’m so bothered and asked my friend “San tayo uupo?” then she replied, “Magdadagdag pa naman ata sila ng table”, we waited for about 20 minutes but no coordinator came to assist us. Can you imagine we were about 20 people standing in the entrance door waiting for the table that the couple requested.

Until my friend saw 4 vacant seats near the bride’s relatives, she immediately grab my hand and told me to sit down para nga naman daw di kami mawalan ng ng pwesto.. OMG! I can’t imagine myself like a gatecrasher na walang upuan.. Huhu. Ian and I together with my dear friend and her husband were seated but unfortunately, some of our big bosses and friends are eating while standing in front of the door, nakakahiya tuloy kumain kasi sila nakatayo kami nakaupo.. I promise myself that if I get married, I will not allow my guests to experience what I suffer that day that’s why on our invitation we included RSVP so that they will confirm if they are coming or not. Lagi kong sinasabi “Please confirm or else pag nagsabi kayo na di kayo pupunta tapos on the day mismo andun kayo, sorry nalang kc wala na kayong upuan since naka individual names yung chairs” Yes! I always told that on our invited guests. Sayang naman yung slots nila db!

Planning a wedding is very easy for me because I was surrounded by a very talented, supportive and lovable family and friends. I received a special gift from Mechelle, my college friend from Abu Dhabi, a very nice guest name holder which she purchased online. Wow! Thank you so much Mec!

For Guests

She sent her package to me one month before our wedding day, Ian and I together with our families assemble it. Bonding moment again! J Presenting to you our guest name holder and holder for principal sponsors.

For our Principal Sponsors

Our guests really amazed when they saw their names place on the holder and keeps on taking pictures holding their name tag. Haha. I remember one friend told me on after our wedding “Grabe gurlash! Ang ganda ng wedding nyo! Ang daming souvenirs for guests and personalized pa lahat! Astig! Sinong nag gupit gupit ng names? ” Hearing that feedback from one of our guest is really overwhelming.

P.S
Thank you Kuya Rey (sa Friendster Guard) for helping me in cutting their names.

Ian and I really love to travel; in fact we already travelled around the Philippines from Luzon, Visayas down to Mindanao. Yes! We are not just an ordinary bf/gf but we are travel buddies too. We started to travel when we were 11 days old as bf/gf, our first place to go was Tagaytay. So when we decided to get married, we only have one theme in mind – TRAVEL! Having a table number in reception is very common and out of our theme that’s why we came up to this idea of having places that we visited instead of number. Nice idea right?!
