HONEY-moon @ SG (Day 3: Universal Studios Singapore)

Our Day 3 at Singapore was dedicated to Universal Studios only! Yes! Whole day at USS was on top of our list! Yahooo!!! I remember our last visit in HongkongDisneyland last 2010, we have been crazy over theme parks, para kaming mga bata na nakawala sa hawla! Same here, we are so excited to enter the so-called “Universal Studios – Singapore”.

So this post begins on a splendid Monday morning where my husband has been excited to visit Universal Studios Singapore. As I looked at the entrance gate, it led me back to my childhood days when I dream to visit Universal Studios one day, and now here I am standing in front of the grand entrance and excited to meet and greet some of my favorite life-sized cartoon characters. Waahh..

I believe that theme parks raise the images of happy visitors, young and old, boy or girl and even crazy kids. The sounds of screaming children and adult are a very good sign that they really enjoy it and they having a good time.

Anyway, we purchased one-day Adult (Non-Peak) for $68.00/person then we bought the Universal Express worth $30.00/person, this ticket allows you to bypass the regular queue at participating attractions at USS. This Universal Express access is a separate line with a shorter wait line at each valid attraction but this is valid only for one time use per ride / attraction. Not Bad!

After we purchased our tickets, we opted to pose in front of the famous USS globe. Well, I guess your visit in Singapore will not be complete not unless you have a photo in front of this globe. By the way, it’s so difficult to pose in front of this globe without any distractions, remember every tourist wants also to capture a best spot that’s why you need more patience to capture it perfectly.

Welcome Honeymooners to Universal Studios Singapore!

Hubby :)

As soon as we enter the theme-park, we make ourselves busy by taking lots of pictures. Ang ganda talaga sa loob ng USS, para kaming bata na nagtatalon sa tuwa! Haha.

Ooppsss! Oh noh! Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus!

After this scary man (haha), we roamed around the area until we saw Betty Boop! (In fairness, hawig nga nya!) Haha.

Talagang may solo picture asawa ko dito ha.. hhmmp! Haha

Our first destination is the “Hollywood”, in this area you will see the Monster Rock wherein you can watch the Universal Classic Monsters in an all new Rock-N-Roll extravagant! There are also lots of stores here like Star Characters, The Dark Room, Silver Screen Collectibles, Superstar Candies and The Brown Derby.

We continue our journey, until I reach the New York Street where we saw The Sesame Street Characters. Yahoo!!! Of course, I get ready to strike my pose with Big Bird and shake-hands with Abby-Cadabby.

with Big Bird! :)

Abby-Cadabby and Hubby :)

Unfortunately, we didn't try to enter the “Lights, Camera, Action” Hosted by Steven Spielberg; this one of the attractions located in New York.  Anyway, we keep on walking and all finally the famous transformer ride is now in front of us.  This is located in Sci-Fi City where you can find the best and thrilling ride, yes thrilling because of the Cylon and Human roller coaster. Waahh..

Battlestar Galactica: Cylon is a suspended roller coaster goes up, around and upside down with an intense corkscrew and a cobra roll while Battlestar Galactica: Human has a zooming speeds of 82.8km/hour, which is seated roller coaster narrowly avoids collisions as it twists, turn and propels you over 14 storeys into the air. Oh noh! Di ako sasakay dyan kahit bigyan nyo pa ko ng one whole year FREE entrance sa USS.

Hubby and I are really excited to try the Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle. In this ride, you will join Optimus Prime and the Autobots as you become a freedom fighter in the ultimate 3D battle against the forces of evil. The ride itself is really adventure! We are all screaming because of the special effects. Ang galing talaga! This is one of the coolest and very challenging rides we ever experience!

His Dream Car! Naks naman!

After our ride in Transformer, we decided to take our lunch. Nakakagutom kaya yung ride na yun, I swear! Pero buti nalang di muna kami kumain, or else suka ang aabutin namin. Haha.

2 piece Chicken, Fried Bun and Mash Potato - SGD 7.50
My lunch (Kainis walang rice!) Bitin!

We roamed again after lunch and our feet lead us in Far Far Away Land. We saw a grand castle which offers the tourist the Shrek 4-D Adventure. In this attraction we see, hear and feel the action right from our seat as we join Princess Fiona and Shrek in a fairytale adventure. The Shrek 4-D is a fun ride where in one of the scenes, water falls on you when Donkey sneezes. Haha. Anyway, kids and all of us enjoyed watching the movie.  By the way, this is also my watch (Ian’s birthday gift) got lost. Huhu.

Our next stop is the Enchanted Airways, since takot kami sa mga giant roller coaster dito kami sa junior roller coaster. Haha. Then, we also tried to watch “Donkey LIVE”, actually HK Disneyland has also this kind of attractions and like a kid, I was so happy that I sing along with Shrek’s sidekick, Donkey as he hosts this interactive “live” show.

After donkey’s encounter, we reach the Ancient Egypt. This is where the Revenge of the Mummy and Treasure Hunters located. We first tried the Treasure Hunters, waahh.. This is soooo boring ride! As in! Booo!!! This is where young explorers can drive their own desert jeep through an abandoned Egyptian excavation site.

We stroll around the Ancient Egypt and give the Revenge of the Mummy a try. Before you will enter this ride you need not to bring anything with you, meaning you should leave all your things even cameras on the free lockers that they provided (loose articles are not permitted). We left our things in the locker and start our journey with the Mummy. This is one of the scariest rides we ever tried; we were plunges into total darkness on this indoor roller coaster as we come to face to face with warrior mummies and scarab beetles. Wow! Amazing!

After the electrifying ride, we go for a relaxing one; Madagascar: A Crate Adventure. It is located in Madagascar theme-zone which offers an unforgettable river boat ride with their four heroes, Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria.

I was so excited when I saw Dinosaur, wow!!! But Ian is more excited that me, and natuwa rin naman sa kanya yung dinosaur kaya ayan, kinain ang ulo nya.. Haha.

Me: Okay honey, 1..2..3.. (click)
(sabay kain sa ulo ni hubby)
Haha.. Cuteness!

We walked and walked and walked again, until we arrived at The Lost World. Here you can see the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Canopy Flyer, Dino-Soarin, Amber Rock Climb and the Water world. Unfortunately, we only tried the Canopy Flyer which we enjoy the pre-historic bird’s eye-view of the Jurassic park.

We went on almost all the rides and ate at the hot spots. Here are some other pictures from the trip.

Princess Fiona?!

Shrek!

Approved!

Pang Teleserye ba? :p
Overall, it was pretty smooth for us. We just present our express ticket and you don’t need to wait for the long queue. (I recommend this, since it is the fastest way to experience each of the attractions in the shortest possible time).

To end our day, we just sit down outside the USS and do more photo ops.

We also took our dinner at Vivo City and again picture picture and play with our camera until 11pm.
