Hotel Review: Acacia Hotel

We celebrated my first Mother’s Day last May 11 at Acacia Hotel in Alabang. I’m so excited to celebrate because it is our first staycation as a family. Initially, I told my husband that I want a simple celebration like dinner out with him and Rhian but Ian said that he wanted to celebrate it in a more special way like somewhere quiet to relax and chill out so the solution is - staycation. Naks! Gustong bumawi ng asawa ko sa akin. Hehe.

Thank God, Deal Grocer offers discounted price for hotels within Metro Manila and luckily one of them is the Acacia Hotel. So at Php 3,990.00 at a Deluxe King Room in a 5-star hotel, I must say the price was just right for our budget. By the way, the promo came with complimentary buffet breakfast for two and free use of the hotel’s pool and fitness center.  So after placing the order, I called the hotel for reservation. Mahirap na baka di  available yung room on Mother’s Day specially   peak season and weekend at the same time but  fortunately there are still rooms available room on our prefer dates! Wohoo!!

After hearing the mass at NSSH, we then off to our next destination – Acacia Hotel! It’s our first time to explore Alabang so Ian and I are really excited about it, another adventure for Mr. and Mrs. Villareal. With the help of our dear friend Waze, we reached our destination safe. Acacia Hotel Manila is approximately 30 minutes away from Makati and located at the center of the rising commercial and business district of the south. This is a modern five star Filipino Hotel I must say, since the staff greeted you in our language – “Tagalog”

Acacia Hotel Manila is one of the newest hotels in Alabang.  When I goggled for hotel reviews, I found most of the reviews were very positive and you know what it was awarded by Trip Advisor with a Traveler’s Choice Award. Wow!  As we reached the hotel, I told myself “Bonggang staycation ito!” I was amazed with the modern-looking lobby surrounded by high glass walls, as in napa WOW ulit ako. Haha. It definitely catches the eye of the visitors.

One thing that makes my husband mad, when one of the staff told him that there are no available push cart and they will just carry our luggage instead. In that case, my husband demand for a push cart because we have lots of bags plus Rhian’s stroller and it’s not advisable for us to carry our own things. Hello! May bitbit kaya akong anak and kawawa naman sila kung bubuhatin nila yun db, so we waited for a few minutes until the push carts are already available.

Anyway, Acacia Hotel’s lobby is very modern in terms of design. It served with elegant and relaxed setting and I would say that it was very beautiful and enormously impressive. I was stunned with the lots of metal, glass, patterns and neutral colors of the hotel. I love the natural light that comes in adds a warm and open feeling to the waiting area. In fairness, tipid na sila dun ha. Hihi.

Lobby at Night

I know it’s too early to check-in (1pm) but I showed the voucher to the receptionist and asked if there are available rooms already since Rhian was so sleepy, happy to say that our reserved room is already vacant. As usual, the staff required us to deposit Php 3,000 as a security deposit upon check-ins to make sure for any incidentals like if you decided to eat the food at the mini bar or any damages may occur.  The receptionist also gives us Electronic proximity card for our room.

The room (Deluxe Room) exudes warmth and elegance with its interiors and full of light and neutral colors. I like our room since it’s very simple, modern and soothing.  The bedroom has a cozy and warm king-sized bed that was big enough for all of us. The mattress is clean and so soft and you know what I ‘m so excited to jump unto these fluffy white beds! We could easily spend a whole day on this bed! I’m happy to know that they have two big pillows per person, at least hindi na kami mag aagawan mag asawa. Hehe. Oopppsss.. I think mas nagustuhan ng anak namin yung bed.

It’s that comfy. Look at our baby girl!

The room also had a 40” LCD Television with cable mounted on the wall, full-size executive desk with universal socket and Telephone system. They also provided Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet Access, Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and Complimentary two bottles of mineral water.

The large dresser has Iron and Ironing board, digital safety vault, two bath robes and slippers.

Let’s proceed with the bathroom.. The marbled bathroom has a separate bath tub and glass shower room; it was very spacious with complete amenities and luxurious toiletries.

After settling in, we took a short tour of the facilities of the hotel, starting with the outdoor spot which is their Samanea outdoor garden. I read that this is a popular spot for wedding receptions and other parties.

View from our room

We then visited the gorgeous swimming pool area. The pool has separate pool for adults and children as well as Jacuzzi with overlooking the city. You can clearly see Alabang’s skyline from here. There were a lot of families enjoying the pool when we arrived (the pool was crowded like we expected) so we decided to come back the following day and that we had the pool all to ourselves. Yahooo…We didn't try out the Jacuzzi which was a few steps away, medyo pagod na ang bagets namin eh and gusto ng mahiga sa kama.. By the way, the entire pool is about 5ft-deep.

Our voucher includes buffet breakfast at Acaci and I surprisingly enjoyed the food. Acaci boast of quality buffet dining with Internation and Asian dishes from 6am-10am. Yumminess all around! As in nalula kami sa dami ng pagkain! I think we stayed there until 10am. Haha.  (Some servers are busy talking to our baby girl, super natutuwa sila kay Rhian kasi ang taba and napaka bungisngis.#proudmommy)
