Resort Review: Misibis Bay

This is long overdue, but better late than never. After our Legazpi city tour, our tour guide accompanied us at Hotel Venetia where we stay for 15 minutes. This is where we ride a shuttle going to Misibis Bay. Since we woke up early for our morning flight and got tired from our half day city tour, we fell asleep during our land travel going to Misibis.

Misibis Bay is a breathtaking 5-hectare private island resort which may be reached via a 50-minute flight from Manila to Legazpi then a scenic travel by land (45 minutes) or by private helicopter (15 minutes) or by a fast watercraft (30 minutes).

We just woke up after entering the gate and a warm welcome greeted us upon arrival at the resort. As soon as we stepped out of the van, the beautiful lady wearing maxi dress handed us customized “Misibis Bay” bracelet. The reception area is spacious, well-ventilated and well-lighted. The place is very homey and artistic; the place itself is designed with high, airy ceilings. There are lots of couches and chairs for the visitors and tourist so you will still feel comfortable while waiting for your room to be available. Checking in was a breeze, a staff member handed us welcome drinks for freshening up. The receptionist is very accommodating and friendly; she is actually playing with my kids right after we check-in.

They provided golf cart shuttle going to your villa/room. Since we are too excited to see our room and my kids are too tired, we decided to ride in the golf cart going to our room pero actually, pwede nyo syang lakarin. (well, I thought it was very far from the reception area but to my surprise, it was just 3-4 minutes’ walk. Haha)

Misibis Bay’s stylish architecture and interiors allow guests to completely immerse in incomparable relaxation, it also allow guests to indulge in unparalleled comfort and some privacy you are waiting for.

The resort is sooooo beautiful! As in! Sulit ang byahe namin, sulit ang binayad namin, sulit ang pagod namin! There are lots of coconut trees and well-maintained grass in the areas, so kahit na mainit ang panahon you will have lots of shade in the area. There are also outside chaise lounge by the pool with cushion sunbathing chair where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the view. Ang sarap mag bakasyon!

Misibis Bay also offers world-class facilities both for recreation and for relaxation. This resort is one of my dream destinations as we experience the ultimate luxury and exhilarating adventures come together offering only the most exclusive and privileged hideaway. The resort consists of 53 garden view room and 37 luxurious, Asian-inspired villas. All villas are equipped with a daybed and an expansive terrace which has a direct access to the pool or a path to the beach. (Luxury Villa, Garden View Room, Junior Suite Deluxe, Junior Suite Premier, One Bedroom Luxury, One Bedroom Deluxe, One Bedroom Premier, Premier Villa.)

We booked for Garden View Room located at the 2nd floor. Upon entrance, we were greeted by a plate of complimentary anniversary cake from Misibis. Thank you so much, I’m so kilig!  The room was huge and spacious; there is a queen-sized bed with comfy and huge-able pillows and soothing comforters, a daybed where my kids usually stay and a complimentary native handbag for me. Wow! Super nice! The air conditioning functioned very well; the lights are all working and what I really like is the glass-paneled window where you can see the private pool and the street. A well-deserved R&R indeed!

Surprise Anniversary Cake from Misibis. Thank you so much!
Our room has a safety deposit that can fit our valuable items, iron and board if you want to smoothen up some of your clothes.. There’s also mini bar with complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water which they refill every day. There’s a mini refrigerator, cable LCD television and native slippers which are made of abaca. (This is the famous material used in the Bicol region)

Let’s go to the bathroom, I expect to have bath tub but sad to say wala sya but it’s okay because the bathroom was totally clean and huge which is a big plus if you’re travelling with family. The shower is separate to toilet area which has its own enclosed space, the towels are hygienic and toiletries are provided everyday.

We really loved our room because the Wi-fi connection is fast that’s why we were able to upload our pictures on time. Hehe. We rest for a while and freshen up to explore the resort. The resort is so beautiful, amazing and awesome! Wala na kong masabi pa, ang ganda nya promise! Let me photoblog it.

Misibis Bay offers sophisticated amenities such as their Infinity Pool, Lagoon Pool, Essenses Spa, Fitness Center and Activity or Kids Play Area. This is where you can live in style. One of our favorite spots here in Misibis is the play area, since we went there when during raining days dito nagtatambay madalas.

Here in Misibis Bay you will indulge in a lavish dining experience where you can satisfy your appetite with a wide selection of Asian dishes fused with native spices from Bicol. In Spice Market (this is where we had our breakfast, lunch and dinner) they offer dishes with distinct flavors of Asian herbs, marinades and spices.  But for me, the food here was so-so and the prices were quite steep so be sure to have extra money when you visit Misibis Bay. (I allot 10k just for our food for 4days.) You can also unwind by the pool and enjoy a cool drink at Sula Bar. Sula Bar offers a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ang saya mga beshie!

Another two thumbs up to Misibis for having a private nurse in the resort. My daughter is not feeling well during on our first night and asks if they have thermometer but to my surprised a nurse came to us while having our dinner and checked my daughter. They also have medicines and first-aid kit in the resort. This is a MUST in every private beach resort, to have their own nurse lalo na kung isolated yung place and malayo yung mga hospital.

Guests can also trill over the countless activities within the resort island or around the province. Here are some of the activities you can choose from - Dune Buggy, All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), Watersports Activities (kayaking, standing pedal board, jetski), Chopper Tour, mountain bikes and dune buggies. (Just ask the resort about it.)

Misibis Bay is the ideal location to celebrate your most momentous life events like a private dining at the beach which is my husband’s wedding anniversary to me. (I will make kwento about his surprise on the blog soon.) They can arrange a memorable and romantic dining experience for you and your loved one. You can choose any of their available locations – a refreshing breakfast on top of a hill overlooking Mayon Volcano, a private dinner set-up on the beach under the stars or a candle-lit dinner at the amphitheater with a view of Albay Gulf.

The resort offers various sceneries that you and your family can enjoy – a pristine beach, a gorgeous amphitheater and a chapel (Stella Maris) overlooking the Mayon Volcano.

Overall, I can say that Misibis Bay is one of the best tropical island getaways where guests can either choose to relax under the palm trees or adventure in the sun. If budget permits, we will visit this place again and will stay for 1 week!
