Where to eat in La Union

Before our trip to Thunderbird Resort, my husband decided that we should try some of the famous restaurant in La Union and so he searched for the top 10 must-try restaurant within the area. I’m sharing with you some of the restaurants that we tried.

This is where we ate our super late lunch. Thanks to waze we easily found this restaurant, the parking can only accommodate 2 cars but you can park on the other side of the street. The place was small but good thing it’s air-conditioned and cozy, the serving is enough for one person, tasty but just so-so. Well, actually mas masarap pa ata yung chicken sa mang inasal. The price is a little bit pricey but since gutom kami, keribells narin.

Since this is one of the must-try restaurants in La Union, my husband decided that we should give it a try. So far, this is one of the best halo-halo I’ve ever tasted. Seriously! Although the price is a little bit pricey, okay narin because of the ambiance and yun nga maraming artista na ang nakapunta dito kaya overrated narin yung restaurant. Upon entering the place, the festive ambiance welcomed you so while waiting we keep ourselves busy by taking lots of pictures of the place.

The moment I had stepped in, I already fell in love with interiors. However, the only downside of this restaurant is the staffs which are not very accommodating. Yes! Parang halos lahat ata dun eh hindi marunong mag asikaso ng mga customers. There is no enough parking space since it was situated in a residential area so bahala ka na kung saan mo ipapark yung sasakyan mo.  Anyway moving forward, we ordered two kinds of Halo-Halo, the Fiesta Halo-Halo which is served in a tall glass and their best seller “Buko Halo-Halo” wherein the standard ingredients like nata de coco, red beans, ube, cheese, etc are properly arrange at the Buko.

 Fiesta Halo-Halo
Buko Halo-Halo

Honestly, it’s like an ordinary halo-halo but I have no idea what did they put in there so make it special and tasty. Basta ang sarap nya, I guess because of the milk that they are using, and this is the fresh carabao’s milk.

Olive’s

This restaurant is located inside the Thunderbird Resort which offers Mediterranean food. This is where we had our daily buffet breakfast and our dinner during our anniversary. The food was good enough, nothing so special but what I like is their pizza since it was freshly cooked from their wooden-fired oven. Masarap sya and Chingching loves it. While waiting for our orders, we were given complimentary breads with butter as appetizer.

 Complimentary Breads
Spaghetti Aglio e Olie - Php 240.00
Thunderbird all Meat Pizza - Php 460.00
(Tomato, Concasse, Mozzarella, Beef, Chicken, Pork, Mushroom & Oregano)

For our daily breakfast, we ate at the al fresco which has a sea view that’s why we enjoyed the scenery and fresh air while dining.

Vegas Café

We were able to try this restaurant located within the vicinity of Thunderbird Resort (the resort offers free shuttle that drives around the area). The Fiesta Casino is just right beside this restaurant and open 24 hours. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy our buffet dinner here kasi nagkaubusan na and they took 49 years to refill it. The food is so-so, like in Olive’s there’s nothing special about the food. (Sorry I forgot to take pictures, gutom na kasi that time.)

So if you guys are planning to visit La Union this coming long weekend, go and try these restaurants para kayo mismo ang humusga.
