Haller Guys, how are you? Yahoo.. It's Friday na and I'm soooo excited for the weekend to be with my husband and super kulit na baby girl. Tomorrow we will do ocular visit to check the places for Rhian's upcoming 1st birthday, sorry guys super duper to the highest level ang pagka excite naming mag asawa eh. Hehe.

Anyway, Ian and I were talking last night that our dreams became reality one by one. Haha. Then all of a sudden, Ian noticed that our small family is like a real life sitcom tapos bigla kong naisip, oo nga para kaming si John En Marsha na minsan may tampuhan, pero mas maraming kulitan at asaran.

So I come up with the decision to share our sitcom 101 like one of my favorite bloggers do - Mommy FleurKung sa iba na makakabasa neto medyo corny pero for me, my husband and our family super bentang benta sya. Haha.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Last week, Ian and I had a quick quality time together. As in nood lang kami ng sine then uwi na, you know naman pag may anak ka na hindi mo pwedeng iwanan ng matagal. So right after namin manood ng sine, eto ang naging usapan namin.

Ian - Hon, parang may kamukha yung isang ninja kanina.
RN - Huh? Sino na naman yun, ako ba yan? (sabay hampas sa braso)
Ian - Hindi ah.
RN - E sino nga?
Ian - Yung anak natin..

Enjoy your weekend guys!

Excited momma here! As early as now, I started sourcing my suppliers for my daughter’s upcoming 1st birthday party.. So for the meantime, stop blogging muna ako until makahanap na kami ng venue for the party. I know it’s too early, but believe me pag 1st time mom ka na, you want everything to be perfect for your baby. Planning a party is not that easy, especially when you’re someone who’s very meticulous down to the finest details. Hehe.

I'm a hands-on wife and mom at the same time. Hahahaha.

Super duper mega to the highest level pa naman ang dami kong gustong ishare sa inyo, like our staycation at Crimson Hotel, our food trips, Rhian’s 7th month celebration, etc. Hopefully, (cross fingers) matapos namin ang pag hahanap ng venue this week! Hello, Sept na kaya sa Monday, then 3 months to go 1 year old na anak namin! Waaahhh..

So readers, if you have any suggestions about the vent place please, please let me know. Basta Makati, Manila and BGC area lang. Thanks!

Last June 24, we celebrated our 23rd wedding monthsary and you know what my husband asked me to go out for a dinner date with him, mukhang namiss ako ng asawa ko ha. Anyway, I have one condition to him na dapat sa malapit lang kami and mabilis lang since we need to go home early for Rhian. #SeparationAnxiety

Okay, so Ian and I had our dinner at RYU Ramen and Curry at SM Jazz Mall in Bel-Air Makati. Knowing my husband, he really loves Ramen! As in to the highest level ang pagka hilig nya sa Ramen. I have no idea about this restaurant basta ang alam ko lang gusto ko ng Tonkatsu that day. Hehe. Ooopppsss.. Di po ako naglilihi..

We were ushered to a table and the staff handed us their menu. According to their menu, Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish. It consists of Chinese style wheat noodles served in meat-or occasionally fish based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso and uses toppings such as sliced pork, dried seaweed, kamaboko, green onions, and occasionally corn. Almost every locality in Japan has its own variation of ramen, from the tonkatsu ramen of Kyushu to the miso ramen of Hokkaido. Anyway, as I looked at their menu, I got surprised because these noodles are quiet expensive for a bowl of ramen. Wooohooo..

The restaurant is very spacious, I think they can accommodate 60-100 persons and best of all, there are spaces between each table. Nice! The interiors are bright and cozy; the staffs are very accommodating and attentive.

So after checking their menu, Ian ordered for Gomoku, Salted Broth with Seafood (squid and shrimp) and Sautéed Vegetables. According to my husband the broth was very tasty. Everything was perfect and the bowl us big enough to be shared.

Gomoku –Php 460.00

Since I’ve been wanting for Tonkatsu, I opted to order one for me.  Breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet sliced into bited sized pieces, served with shredded cabbage. Well, nothing special but it was done well.

Tonkatsu –Php 190.00
Gohan - Php 75.00

Overall, Ian and I had a great experience in RYU Ramen and Curry. For more details, check out their Facebook page. ^_^

Finally, I was able to write this another milestone of Rhian, her 1st Solid Food Experience. Yahoo.. Clap Clap Clap. Magaling.. Magaling.. Magaling.. Feeding our baby for the first time will be a moment to remember for us, it is a developmental milestone for Rhian and has to be recorded in the baby book. As a newbies parents, we were so excited to give our daughter her first solid food. So after we prepared the things that we will need, now it’s time for the actual food tasting. Naks!

Are you ready baby?

At first, super kinakabahan kami especially ako kasi baka mya sumuka ng di oras anak ko or mag poops ng di maganda. #paranoidnananay but with the help of my husband nawala na ang worry ko.. According to her pedia, since I’m a 100% Breastfeeding Mom, Rhian can now starts eating solid food when she reaches her 5 and half months. So a week before her 6th month, we decided to give Rhian her first solid food. I gave her organic food from Healthy Options, The Happy Bellies (Brown Rice baby Cereals) with DHA, Choline and Probiotics.

If you will ask me, why brown rice baby cereal for Rhian’s 1st food? 1st, because this was recommended by her pedia, 2nd, as per reviews this is the perfect first solid food for baby’s with little belly. Cereals are easily digestible and gentle for those precious bites, 3rd does not contain artificial preservatives, no added colors or artificial flavors plus it is organic goodness.

Preparing her first meal was so easy for me; I just follow the instructions at the back of the can and kudos, presenting Rhian’s first solid food.

Instructions:

1. Pour desire amount of cereals into bowl. (I put 1 Tbsp)

2. Add Liquid of your choice (For 1st feeding use 4 Tbsps of liquid of your choice (Water, formula milk or breast milk) for every 1Tbsp of dry cereal. Since I’m a breastfeeding mom, I use my breast milk.
3. Mix until it’s the right consistency for your baby.

4. Feed your baby right away. Throw away any leftovers.

Here are the cutest/different reactions of our little girl. Nakakatuwa talaga!  Feeding a baby is one of the most meaningful things we do as a parents.

Mom, what''s this?
Do you like it baby?
One more mommy!
You're the cutest baby!
Yummy Mommy!
Hehe.
Last na yan baby, promise!
Finish! Good Job Anak!

I follow these guidelines when I introduce solid foods to Rhian.
  •  Always use clean hand, utensils and serving dishes all the time.
  • Use a small plastic bowl and plastic baby spoon (BPA Free) which is gentle on the gums. (I used AVENT Feeding Set)
  • Never introduce more than 1 food at a time.
  • Give her a spoon on her own to play with during the meal. Rhian keeps trying to grab the spoon every time I feed her.
  • Use the best quality food you can reasonably afford. (I give her organic vegetables and fresh fruits)
  • Let your baby dictate likes or dislikes and please NEVER force feed!
  • Never let your baby eat unattended. Baka kasi mya mabilaukan sya or something, so please put your both eyes to your baby while feeding her.
  • Last but not the least.. Be PATIENT! Since it takes some time for babies to get used to solid foods.

We were so excited to give our daughter more healthy foods and juices. But for now, ineenjoy pa nya yung mga puréed foods like fruits and vegetables that I prepared. Up to date, she already tasted carrots, squash, sayote, sweet potato, potato, apple and banana. Then, tomorrow I will prepare mashed papaya. Happy Eating Rhian!

By the way, I got this food chart from My Mommy Friday. We will use this as our guide for our baby’s food intake.

Note:
Di muna namin sya nilagay sa high-chair nya on her first solid food experience, alam nyo naman ang nanay nyang batang yan, kabado lagi.. Hehe. We put her in high-chair the following day, after akong kulitin ng ama nya na gamitin na yun. wahhhh...
