I heard lots of stories about the miracle of Padre Pio, and one of the stories I really amazed is the Rated K’s episodeabout Julius Babao’s hear prayers. Since then, I've wanted to visit the place again. (My first visit was way back 2007, I think).

May 4, Saturday I called my parents and told them that we wanted to visit Padre Pio, happy to say that they are joining with us.

Since its 1st Sunday of the Month, expect the tons of people in the chapel, that’s why we decided to leave our house as early as 9:30am to reach the 12am Mass which is according to my mom the priest will put you holy oil right after the mass. The mass for 10am was about to end when we reach the chapel, so we opted to stay outside, light some candles and pray.

Honestly, I almost cry when I silently asked for the blessings and to give us a loving child. I believe that God will give us a healthy baby at the right time. We are not in the hurry but we also did our part to have a baby, ika ng nila “Nasa Diyos ang Awa, Nasa Tao ang Gawa”.  The place was an atmosphere of prayer and it is great to reflect here.

It was solemn inside the chapel, you can see on the right wall are the testimonies of answered prayers, both medical conditions that have been healed and some couples that receive a blessings from above, a healthy baby. Inside the chapel, you can write your petitions and the statue of Padre Pio can be found on the right side of the chapel where devotees like us fall in line and pray in front of him.

Now, I told my husband that starting today we also cite in our prayers the “Prayer for Padre Pio” and “Prayer to Get Pregnant”. (I can’t remember where I copy the files but as far as I remember I believe that God gave me that website to help us to have faith for having a baby.

Para sa pinaka paborito kong asawa, happy 10th wedding monthsary. Thank you for your unconditional love, thank you kc natatangal pagod ko everytime na sinusumpong ka ng kakulitan mo. Alam mo kahit na lakas mong humilik, kahit na laging laptop and cellphone mo ang hawak mo sa bahay, at kahit na minsan corny na yung mga jokes and pick up lines mo (pero in fairness, kinikilig parin ako) love na love parin kita. I hope di ka magbabago kahit na tumanda tayo. Happy 10th wedding monthsary! Loveyou Mister!

P.S

Happy 10th Wedding Monthsary!

It's been a while since I posted my last entry and I can really say that I miss the blogging world. Anyway, I will share to you the continuation of our Davao adventure last March.. Hihi.

After we settle at Chateau Veronica, we decided to take our super duper late lunch at Nanay Bebeng’s.  We are lucky to have 1 Davaoeño in our group, alam na nya lahat kung san masarap kumain and pasikot sikot sa lugar, Thanks Eli!

From Chateau Veronica, we rode a tricycle going to Nanay Bebeng’s Restaurant. We don’t have any idea about this place, but since Eli recommends it we just trust him. (Will post another entry about Nanay Bebeng’s Restaurant).

Then after our scrumptious lunch, our Davao adventure begins. We decided not to avail packages on our 1st day and so we explore the city on our own. Our 1st stop was Lon Wa Buddist Temple which according to Wikipedia is one of the biggest Buddhist temples in the Philippines. Wow! It is located in Agdao District, Cabaguio Ave, Davao City.

Entrance

There’s no entrance fee here, but we just gave the one who assists us a “tip”(Kuyang Guard) who also serve as our tourist guide. O db, 2 in 1 ang peg ni kuya. Hehe.  We all got amazed as the big smiling Buddha statue welcome us at the gate. O db, ang laki nya sobra!

The place is pretty simple but the interior of the temple was colorful. I really love the solemnity of the place. #innerpeace

Main Hall or the Praying Room (this is where Chinese community pay respect)

Different Buddha Statues

Note: You should take off your shoes before entering the hall.

After about 30 minutes, we left Lon Wa Buddist Temple and went at People’s Park wherein we taste the one of a kind ice cream, “Durian” flavor.  Yum Yum!

The park is like “Rizal Park” in Metro Manila. Upon entrance you will be greeted with a stunning view. Your eyes will be amazed by its natural and picturesque landscape with cool gardens, mini play ground and statues.

I love the Durian Dome, for me I found it unique. This arena serves as the visitor’s main entrance. Ooppsss.. I forgot to mention that the entrance is FREE! Wow!

The park also provides benches where in you can sit down, enjoy and relax after a tiring strolling around the park. You can smell fresh air and I swear, all your problems will fade away, just for the meantime.

Valentine's Day ba?! Hehe!

Of course, our group decided to take pictures at the Philippine Eagle Statue.

Since it’s almost 6:30ish pm, we opted to visit our last stop for the day and this is the Jack Ridge.  Our trip will not be complete without visiting to this place. Why? Because this is where you can view 360 degrees of Davao’s city lights. Para syang Cloud 9 sa Antipolo and Victoria’s Peak at HK. This is the famous restaurant on top of the mountain; I found it so romantic and special.

I love their food, the sizzling squid, sinigang na baboy, crispy pata, etc. plus a great view with a serenading band to play music thought out the night (but you need to pay for them of course) equals unforgettable 1st day in Davao. (oooppss.. again I forgot to say that this is my 2nd time in Davao, my 1st visit was way back 2009)

Thank you guys!

LET THE BATTLE BEGINS!

On my previous post, I told you that we‘re taking more serious about having a baby. So after taking clomid (fertility pills) for 5 days, our next step is the follicle monitoring.  My OB told me that I should undergo this procedure in order to check/monitor if there are enough follicles that contain mature eggs. Follicle monitoring is done through transvaginal ultrasound (super duper ooouuuccchhh).

This process is very useful for assessing the size of the follicle that supports the growing egg and for determining the thickness of the uterine lining. It is important to know how many eggs will ovulate and how high the estradiol level is. My OB told me that the goal of follicle monitoring is to provide information about the number of mature eggs that will ovulate and to ensure that this is accomplished safely.
\
This procedure is not included in any HMO packages, so we have no choice but to pay it in cash. Follicle monitoring is worth Php 3,100 for three (3) sessions at Makati Medical Center. Before the procedure, my OB told me that if we are willing to spend money in preparing for our little one, and simply we answered OF COURSE! So now sharing with you the summary of expenses on my 1st cycle.

Norethisterone (1 tablet 2x a day for 7 days) – Php 45.00/each
Clomifene (Clomid) (2 tablets before breakfast for 5 days) – Php 100.00/each
Follicard B Plus(1 tablet before bedtime) – Php 8.50/each
Metformin Glucophage 500mg (twice a day) – Php 12.25/each (this is to counter my PCOS)
Follicle Monitoring Php 3,100.00

We believe that this is really worth it, spending money for our upcoming baby. Okay so let’s discuss the result, I took clomid on D2-D6 during my monthly period; my 1st follicle monitoring was scheduled on my D9. Thank God, my OB doctor is the one who did the tansvi for 1st and last monitoring.

1st Follicle Monitoring (April 24, 2013 – D9)

Left Ovaries with 15 follicles, the largest measuring 0.7cm.

3rd Follicle Monitoring (May 2, 2013 - D17)

No Free Fluid, Cul-De-Sac with multiple sub capsular follicles on left and right
                     ovaries.

According to my OB, my follicles are not growing on the desire size to release mature eggs, ika nga nya “pagsabihan mo yang mga follicles mo na lumaki na, pasaway kasi eh”. We are not losing our hope since this is only our 1st step towards parenthood, and I believe that in this battle, we will win!

So simple message to my follicles, please grow up fast as we are so excited to see our little bundle of joy soon. Please.

I think this 100 times and even consult my husband about this matter. I want to share with you our journey towards parenthood. I believe that some of you also experience this kind of trials that God gave me, US. In this page, I will detail it one by one until the day that our little angel will come in.

After we got married, we plan for our next goal in life and that is to build our own family, meaning to have a baby. We are so excited to see our bundle of joy that’s why we decided to asked for help with OB gyne doctor. Actually, ever since I was in High School, my monthly period is irregular; sometimes I got my period every other month and so when I turned college, I decided to consult a doctor. They found out that I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a common endocrine disorder of some females. This is a hormonal disorder and one of the leading causes of infertility, the reproductive aspects of the disorder are secondary.

I'm considering infertility treatments as an investment.  It's like a business as it's worth taking the risk.  It's like gambling - you'll never know if you gonna win or lose. The only difference is at the end it's not money that you'll be earning.  It's a birth of a new life.

If you have PCOS, you will experience, irregular or no menstrual periods monthly which causes irregular ovulation. My OB Gyne doctor recommends me to take pills every month to correct my period, so from 1st year college until I got engaged, I'm taking medication every month until last year my Neuro doctor recommends to stop it due to my “Panic Attack”. My OB doctor is very accommodating, easy to talk with, and she will explain every detail to you. She monitors my PCOS and prescribes me some medicines to reliefs my PCOS. Every month, I undergo transvi at Makati Medical Center to check if there’s any improvement about my PCOS but sad to say di sila nawawala.. Hayz!

We’re married for almost 9 months and we decided to be more serious in having a child. We are now ready to face another chapter in our life. I told my doctor that we will do anything to improve my situation.  So now, we’re taking our 1st step in our session.

Last month my doctor prescribe me Primolut to have my period, I take 1 tablet 2 times a day for 1 week. After 3 days, I got my period, then on my day 2 of menstrual cycle I take Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid) two tables once a day before breakfast good for 5 consecutive days. Clomiphene stimulates the release of hormones needed to cause ovulation but it may take several cycles to find the right dose to stimulate ovulation. Well, I’m on my 1st cycle pa lang naman and according to some research it will be done for 3 to 6 cycles.

Now, can you blame me if I got angry with those stupid women who kill their baby inside the womb (nagpapalaglag). Sometimes, I wonder “bakit yung ibang di ganon kaganda ang buhay ang daming anak and yung ibang ayaw magkaanak nagkakababy, bakit kaming gustong magkababy nahihirapan naman..” but you know what, my husband simply told me “There’s no need to rush. If something is meant to be, it will happen. In the right time, with the right person for the best reason.” Now, I understand that God has better plans for us; we just need to wait and believe in him.

I will post another article about my follice monitoring (3 sessions). So please guys, include us in your prayers.  Thank you so much!
