WHY WE CHOSE IT:

Before deciding, Ian and I have been to San Agustin Church, we spent some time looking around the place and getting feel the church. We didn't really have any sort of criteria except that we want to feel the joy in our heart. So finally, when we visit NSSH, this was the one that really made our hearts skip a beat. We felt an instant connection with the place and I for one felt somewhat teary-eyed going inside the church.

We love this church very much! We usually attend mass here together. To tell you honestly, ever since I was a child, I want to get married in this church. NSSH is a jubilee church and this is where I grow up and know God better. I served here for almost 15 years (Jr. CWL and Legion of Mary) and I can say na this is "THE ONE" for us. I know the staffs very well, very accommodating and very friendly.

This church is not as big as the other churches in Metro Manila but it is definitely has one of the most beautiful altar we've seen so far!  Located right smack at the central business district of Makati, The National Shrine of the Sacred Heart is an artistic fusion of post modern and classic interiors thoughtfully designed to complement elegance, and accentuate comfort with solemnity of worship. It’s a perfect place to take your solemn vow. NSSH is fully air-conditioned and has sufficient parking space for all the guest. The ambiance of this church is also the reflection of our personalities - very comfortable, personal, intimate and homey type. This is the way we want our ceremony to be! Perfect! Additional, you can actually have a full hour for the ceremony and an additional 15-30 minutes to take pictures in the altar with your friends, have a properly exit as well as time to packed up things. Kudos!

I could actually imagine myself walking down the aisle and I could see my family, relatives and friends sitting along those comfortable seats while smiling at me. Nothing more perfect than NSSH, I tell you. Please join us in praying that it won't rain on our Wedding Day!

Note to remember: October 02, 2009, The National Shrine of Sacred Heart of Jesus was declared a JUBILEE SHRINE by Archbishop of Manila; Cardinal Gaudencio B. Rosales.

We have already been through a lot together, and I believe that God has been preparing us for this moment and for our future together. I promise to keep the good memories alive, and to let the bad ones die.

Though life may not always be as perfect as it is at this moment, I vow to always keep my love as pure as it is today. I promise to be there for you in your laughter and your tears, in your sickness and your health, in your comfort and your fears, in your poverty and your wealth. I know that our love is heaven sent, and I promise to be there for you for all your life, come what may.

• Together, we will be better than we could be alone,

• Together, we will share our love with the world.

• Together, our love will grow into a bond too strong to break

Two bonding rings and engagement ring

During our anniversary, we make sure that we celebrate it out of town usually 3-4 days but since we need to control our budget for our upcoming wedding we decided to spend overnight stay away from work in Acuatico Beach Resort in Laiya San Juan Batangas.

Actually, we made our reservation 1 month before our anniversary to make sure that we get a slot on our desired dates, unfortunately the rooms are fully-booked on July 23-24 so we decided to change our dates to July 22-23 then on our anniversary date we just have dinner date at Shangri-la. But after few days discussing what to do on our trip, we opted to re-booked it again and make it July 24-25 exactly on our 5th year.

We don’t have car, so were travelling commute. I asked my friend who lives at Batangas on how to get there and she told me that we need to catch a RRCG bus ride at Buendia going to San Juan, and then take a jeep bound to Laiya which will pass by Acuatico. (Note: There are only 3 scheduled trips per day). It took us 3.5hours of travel from Manila to Laiya, so we arrived there just in time for lunch. The staffs are very accommodating; we were welcomed warmly and gave us refreshing pandan drink. Weehh!!! But since our room is not ready yet, one friendly staff toured us around the resort. (We left our luggage at the reception area) As soon as we entered, we were amazed with the magnificent view of infinity pool! Wow! It was indeed real and breathtaking! No doubt that this is the main attraction of the resort. The floating bar in the middle of the infinity pool is awesome!

Infinity Pool

Jacuzzi with Fountain

Acuatico’s pool is a combination of three pools. The pool starts at the jacuzzi with fountain in front of the main restaurant. And then it runs through the 3 feet pool for kids connecting to the 4 feet then the best part is the 5 feet where the infinity pool ends. Of course, photo shoot will never be out once you see the place, so here are some of our shots! This is a high recommended place for relaxing, I swear! Really worth it!

Roaming around the resort is very relaxing, since the ambiance was really fantastic! I salute the staffs and management on how they keep the resort clean. Well, the illusion of the infinity pool connecting to the beachfront is really amazing. After 30-minutes, one staff told us that our room is ready and they already placed our luggage inside the room. As soon as we entered our room (Infiniti), the sweet aroma welcomed us. The room is too small for us; there is no more space if you invite more people to visit your room. Haha. The bed was so comfortable which added lots of pillows with very soft comforter. They also have cable LCD television, intercom and bottled water. We would have loved to just lay there, sleep and relax.

Twin Size Bed

The comfort room was small, but they provided the necessary needs like lotion, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, toothbrush and cotton buds. They also have hair dryer and clean bath towels. Take note that they provided 2 different towels. One is for beach towel and the other one is for after shower.

Toiletries
We decided to relax for a moment at our room and had our late lunch around 2:30pm. Since Acuatico doesn’t allow their guest to bring food, we have no choice but to support their own restaurant, Oceano Acuatico which you will experience the panoramic view of the entire resort. Foods are pricey I swear, though it was really good! Upon looking on what’s on the menu to see if we could go for buffet which cost 500+ per person while a la carte range from Php 260 up we finally decided to for set meal for our late lunch while buffet for our dinner.

Spaghetti for me

Acuatico's Special Burger for Ian

After our snack time, we opted to use the kayak and pedal boat towards the beach that the resort provides for free! Well, they don’t have time limits; you can use it as long as you want to use it. The security guard and lifeguards are very accommodating, we signed a waiver then that’s it. We really enjoyed their amenities.

Pedal Boat
We love the infinity pool; Ian enjoyed taking photos under water while I enjoy the lying at the sunbeds.

Overall, Acuatico Beach resort is one of the most luxurious resorts in Batangas, knowing that we spend almost 11k for an overnight stay including transpo and all meals. Wow! But it’s okay with us, we really had fun and enjoyed our stay here and the resort itself is amazing!

A perfect place to relax and unwind, to have some bonding moments with your loved one and of course to free your mind with all the stress from work.
