Happy Birthday Suzette!

Zet is my friend at the same time my classmate in AMA during college life. We have lots of things in common and differences also. She was hired here at our office last May 11 and work as a Call Specialist. Since it's her birthday last Monday, June 28 she decided to treat us for lunch. Her first option was to try Chicken Bacolod in Paseo de Roxas but I suggest trying Mang Inasal since I've already tried Chicken Bacolod and Chic-Boy in Makati Avenue.

Since some of our friends currently on a meeting before lunch time, Zet and I choose to left the office around 12noon and go off to Mang Inasal in DBP Office in Makati Avenue. While waiting for others to arrived, we share lots of stories about anything around the world. Haha. Finally after 20 minutes, Tin, May and Gen arrived.

Mang Inasal has branches in Bacolod, Iloilo, Roxas, Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Kalibo etc. As of today, they have 250 branches nationwide. According to their website, Mang Inasal endeavors to adhere to elements that bear a distinctively Pinoy stamp-grilling with charcoal. I really amazed how this restaurant became popular these past few years. I think because it is one of the best alternative dishes to the usual fried chicken that Jollibee, Mc Donalds and KFC offers or maybe because it was endorsed by one of the most popular and in-demand artist, Mark Bautista. Haha.

I really want to try their chicken, so I choose to order PM1 which includes Legs and Thigh part. The chicken was marinated with local spices and herbs placed in a bamboo sticks served with plain rice wrapped in banana leaves. Their chicken really suits the taste of Filipino. Their servings was large which enough for you to take additional rice. (Mang Inasal offers rice-all you can). I love the mixed savor of sweet and smoky flavors. Your desire for food will be tastier when you dip it in a mixture of soy sauce, chili and calamansi.

PM1 (Chicken Inasal with plain rice)

They also have a complimentary soup which I really love. It was served hot and the taste was a little bit sour which makes our stomach ready to taste their best chicken inasal.

Complimentary Soup

Gen opted to try their PM3 which includes 2 pieces of Barbecue and plain rice

PM3 (2 pcs barbecue and plain rice)

We ordered regular iced tea for our drinks.

We shared lots of stories about our officemates and do our usual laughter and picture taking of course!

Again, Thank you Suzette for the wonderful treats for us.

Happy Happy Birthday!

I'm very protective when it come to my lips. I blemish it by putting some lip gloss or lip balm to make it shiny and soft. So before we start our shopping galore last Saturday, I ask Ian to accompany me at The Body shop to purchase Lip Balm. The first time I use Lip Balm from The Body Shop is when my boss gave it to me as his Christmas gift way back 2007. I really love the flavor and how it helps my lips protected from peeling. I don't apply lipstick since my mom told me not to use it because it will cause my lips turns into darker. The Lip Balm from Body shop is expensive but should I say it is really worth it and keep on a year.

Strawberry Lip Balm Php 250.00

Yesterday Ian and I go off to Trinoma to have our shopping spree for our Hongkong Escapade this July as our 4th year anniversary celebration. After we completed the things we need to purchased and done with our dinner, Ian noticed this new game offered by Timezone. We already noticed this game before we start our shopping galore, but we didn't try it since we concentrate to other things. But when I left Ian for a while because I need to buy some "pasalubongs" for my family, he told me that he just stays int he timezone booth where lots of people are looking at the machine. After I've done my part, I went to him and observe what's happening; I saw this group of people trying to pin down a mini solar figurine. Ian wants to try it so he purchase 2 token worth Php 10.00 each. After first try, he didn't make it so for the second try; I crossed my fingers and hoping that he will get the mini figurine for me. Luckily, he made it! Yipee! Upon getting this cute solar statuette, he immediately gave it to me and told me that he provides all his best to catch it for me. So sweet!

After that, we purchased again 2 tokens and take our chance to grab one again, but unfortunately we missed it. But it's okay, one is enough for me.

Thank you honey for the fluky gift! I really like it. ♥♥♥

Ian and I celebrate our 47th monthsary yesterday so we decided to have our dinner at Bubba Gump. We always see this restaurant whenever we crossed the Greenbelt 3 hallway. It always catches our attention every time their staff convinced us to try their restaurant. We all know that Bubba Gump is famous for seafood specifically shrimp, they offer pricey but stunning food as well and because of that we make a decision trying this restaurant when we have a special occasion. Since it's our monthsary, Ian planned to treat me here, so sweet!

The place was first-class for me. The staffs are very much accommodating; they greeted us with a big smile upon entering the restaurant and assist us to our seats. I like the ambiance of the restaurant, the details and unbelievable spacious interior design that makes this restaurant dazzling. What catches my thought was the famous word "Run Forest Run" on our table which according to their website it was started from the movie "Forest Gump" where Forest and Bubba would build their first restaurant.

I also saw the ping pong paddle on our table, each page consist of their best drinks menu. How amazing idea right?!

I also wonder for this pail placed on our table, when I look inside I saw hot sauce, ketchup and tissue which I think you can use when you peel the shrimps. Very nice right?!

One friendly staff came in, his name is JP. He told us that they will give us free dessert every time we answered his questions about the legend of Bubba Gump, since we have no idea about how it started he opt to tell the whole story behind the success of this restaurant. It was so nice to hear the story while waiting for our order, I enjoy how he deliver it and after his story telling we now understand and recognize the use of the most popular word in Bubba Gump which are the "Run Forest Run" as well as "Stop Forest Stop". When you have to call their attention, you need to place down the "Stop Forest Stop" so that they will assist you in your needs, while you use the "Run Forest Run" when you have no other concern. We really enjoy this cool and marvelous idea.

We started to order an getting hard to choose from various choices, until we both agree for our orders/ We first choose to have Shrimper's Heaven. You will love the shrimps included in this meal. It includes 4 different cooking styles, shape and taste in every cone. The dynamite shrimp, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp and hush pups. It also includes tries with mouth-watering dippin' sauces.

Shrimper's Heaven Php 632.74 + 12% VAT

I ordered one plain rice since I skipped merienda for this dinner.

Plain Rice Php 70.80 + 12% VAT

Ian settles to try Shrimp Shack Pasta. According to their menu it is fusilli and penne pasta tossed with a lemon garlic sauce and topped with grilled shrimp and a sprinkle of feta cheese. The taste was really tasty bu the feta cheese on top makes my taste buds a little bit disappointed because I didn't like the sour flavor of it. Ian noticed that I always remove it whenever I get some, so he decided to take it off on the plate.

Shrimp Shack Pasta Php 393.81 + 12% VAT

He ordered Iced Tea for his drinks while I prefer to have their service water.

Bottomless Iced Tea Php 88.50 + 12% VAT

Service Water

I honor the staff that assist us during our meal specifically JP, he always check us if we are enjoying our food, if we have other concerns or something but what makes me admire him is that he gave us free ice cream despite of not answering his questions about Bubba Gump since we have no idea about the story behind the said restaurant and make him enlighten us. The ice cream was good, it is vanilla ice cream which I think good for 2 persons since Ian and I share it.

Free Vanilla Ice Cream

We ended up our dinner date with picture taking of course. We make sure to have a simple remembrance every time we do food trip. So if you are Shrimp lover you will also enjoy the dishes that they offer. They also recommend their other dishes like the popcorn shrimp and garlic shrimp.

I was surprised when my boss called me to come in his office this morning and told me that he has a simple gift for me. Actually, what makes me surprised was he never give any gifts without occasion. He told me that he buy it for me since he know that I will like that, so I wait for him until he present me this 1 set of Staedtler Pens.

I really like it because I can use it everyday. I love the colors and the packing as well. Now I can make our scrapbook and photo album more colorful and presentable.

Thank you Sir Jorge for the stunning multicolored pens that you gave me.

I've sent SMS to Ian last Monday morning and request him if we can have dinner at Joey's Pepperoni since I'm craving for some pasta and pizza. Thank God, he grants my favor since I told him that it's my treat. Haha. He picked me from office and immediately rides a cab that will transport us to The Columns. Actually, we already try this restaurant at Robinson's Manila branch. We enjoy the 50% discount for all pizzas that they offer. But this time they replaced it to two pizzas for the price of one. You have two options whether you get the two 8-inch pizza for Php 199.00 or two 12-inch pizza for Php 399.00 but unlike before that you are free to choose for the flavors of pizza but now the choices are now limited to Pizza Messicana and Bacon Mushroom Special.

Upon entering the restaurant, a friendly staff assists us to our seats. The place was small, it consists of 7 tables upstairs and other tables are found outside the restaurant. We were lucky to have our seats inside. There is only one comfort room for boys and girls that's why Ian told me not to use the restroom since it's not in good condition, to be specific the smell was not fine.

I'm craving for Caesar Salad so I ordered 1 Classic Caesar Salad. Their salad consists of crisp lettuce, bacon, crunchy croutons served with ccreamy Caesar dressings topped with parmesan cheese. It is really good appetizer before you take your main dish.

Classic Caesar Salad Php 110.00

Ian choose the Bolognese Meat Sauce; it is a classic Filipino meat sauce with garlic bread on side. The serving was enough for one person. I love the flavor of the meat sauce especially when you match it with the strong spirit of garlic bread and pizza. Ian didn't consume all of it so being a nice and good girlfriend I help him. Haha.

Bolognese Meat Sauce Php 155.00

I love Carbonara that's why I choose to order one for me. The carbonara that they offer is made of creamy Alfredo sauce, bacon bits and Parmesan cheese. To make my carbonara more appetizing I added a little pepper on top of it.

Carbonara Php 165.00

Since we are both craving for pizza, we prefer to try their promo. We get the two 8-inch pizza for Php 199.00 but since it's limited only for Messicana and Bacon Mushroom special, we opt to try both. Pizza Messicana is made of beef toppings, bacon, cheddar cheese, lots of mushroom and Mexican seasoning. I didn't like it, maybe because of the Mexican seasoning added on top of it but I really love the crisp of their thin crust pizza.

Pizza Messicana

I try the Bacon Mushroom special that we ordered. It catch my attention when I saw the melted cheese topped with plenty toppings of bacon and mushroom; without any hesitation I grab one. It didn't disappoint me unlike the Messicana, I love the flavors of the toppings especially when you match it with a hot sauce.

Bacon Mushroom Special

For the drinks, Ian tries their Bottomless Iced Tea while I choose to have their regular Iced Tea.

After our whole day event last Saturday, our next activity was my high school friends' reunion. Actually this was re-scheduled from June 12 to June 19 since some of us have work. So finally, the most awaiting meet-up happened. We arrived at Mall of Asia around 8:30pm, the first person who get there is Gian followed by Mon with his girlfriend Cathy and then Jaja my best friend with her boyfriend OJ. I really get surprised when I saw them since it's been 9 years since the last time I met them. Gian still the same, as well as Mon but what I was surprised most is when I saw my best friend Jaja. I hug and kiss her because I really miss her so much. We have issues during high school days that until now we are not talking about, but now I can proved to myself that time will heal everything.

I ask them where to eat but they said anywhere, so I suggest trying Tempura. Upon entering to the said restaurant, the waitress told us that they cannot accommodate us since the cooking will be served after 30 minutes. I told them the situation and thank God Cathy suggest in trying Taste Asia. I really miss my friends; I can't imagine that I'm with them that time. It brings back all the memories we've shared during High School life, the laughter's , the crying moment and the 'kilig" moments as well. I love this group because with them I can be all by myself , I share my problems with them and happiness, I can even tell my secrets with them because I know they will keep it for the rest of our lives.

Here are some of our high school photos.

Unfortunately, our other friends weren't able to come like Jhay-Ar who is currently working at Canada, while Jaja and Raffy are both busy in their family affairs. But even though they didn't come in this reunion, we make it a point to enjoy that night. It's so nice and very overwhelming to see them again, same old stories and shares laughter's again. Of course, we takes this opportunity to take lots of pictures as a remembrance.

After our dinner, we decided to have some beer drinking. Mon and Cathy choose to go home since they have a scheduled of work the following day. We walked along the sea side at San Miguel Bay and opt to settle at Aling Tonya's. We ordered 1 bucket of San Miguel Lights and 1 kilo of Inihaw na Liempo c/o Gian. Around 12:00am we decided to go home and planned our next get-together which is on July 17 for Lyka's birthday treat!
